There was an incident with overcrowding based on a miscalculation. He states the applicant is paying off the fine and has discussed capacity issues with the police department. He further states the applicant has reviewed the shooting incident with staff. They have determined that security protocol was followed. There was a pat down at the door and no weapons were inside the establishment. When an argument began, security attempted to dissipate the situation and escorted invididuals outside. One of the individuals left to retrieve a gun. Security personnel were inside and outside. Staff inside kept additional individuals from joining the incident. Staff were stationed outside to keep the incident from escalating. Ald. Coggs states that steps taken the evening of the incident may not have been enough. There are a number of additional steps that can be taken to keep an establishment secure. She suggested security procedures be re-evaluated and the applicant can speak with the police department for suggestions. Ald.
