Title

Substitute resolution directing the City Clerk to expend from the resources reserved in the Council-Led Transfer Fund.

Analysis

This resolution directs the City Clerk to make expenditures from the resources reserved in the Council-Led Transfer Fund.

 

Body

Whereas, The 2024 Adopted Budget appropriated $2.4 million of tax levy dollars to the One Milwaukee Citizen-Led Transformational Fund Special Purpose Account; and

 

Whereas, Common Council File 240788, adopted on October 15, 2024, transferred the remaining funds from the One Milwaukee Citizen-Led Transformational Fund Special Purpose Account to the Council-Led Transfer Fund Special Purpose Account; and

 

Whereas, Common Council File 240979, adopted on November 26, 2024, assigned and transferred $2.4 million from the Council-Led Transfer Fund SPA to the Common Council - City Clerk’s Office department operating account; and

 

Whereas, These funds are eligible for carryover to 2025 under Section 65.07(1)(p) of the Wisconsin Statutes; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Clerk is directed to expend department operating funds in the following manner:

Further Resolved, That the City Clerk shall enter into contracts for the services contained in this resolution upon review and approval of the City Attorney that the allocation complies with existing federal law; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the process for City Clerk expenditures for the resident-led community budget program shall be established by separate resolution; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Clerk shall disburse the funds for support for existing programs to prevent homelessness based on recommendations from the Department of Administration-Community Development Block Grant Administration, which shall be provided within 60 days of adoption of this resolution.
