...Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department to accept and fund a 2020 AFG Equipment Grant from the Department of Homeland Security in the amount of $150,000 which includes a City Match of $13,636.36. The purpose of the grant is to protect the health and safety of the public and firefighting personnel through the purchase of Vehicle Extrication Equipment and FIT Testing Equipment.

 

Body

Whereas, Under the terms of CFDA Program #97.044, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for the FY2020 AFG Grant to purchase Vehicle Extrication Equipment and FIT Testing Equipment; and

 

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 08/26/21 to 08/25/23 would cost $150,000 of which $136,363.64 (91%) would be provided by the grantor and $13,636.36 (9%) would be provided by the city; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, the Fire Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2022 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled FY2020 Assistance to Firefighters Grant - Vehicle Extrication and FIT Testing Equipment:

2.  Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amounts required under the grant agreement;

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Fire Department which is authorized to:

 

1.  Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
