Analysis
This substitute resolution approves the Connecting the Corridor Strategic Action Plan, amends the Near North Side Area Comprehensive Plan to include the Strategic Action Plan as part of the City's Overall Comprehensive Plan and directs City departments and agencies to work toward implementation of the Comprehensive Plan, as amended.
Body
Whereas, A detailed strategic action plan has been prepared, which is titled Connecting the Corridor Strategic Action Plan (“CCSAP”), a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; and

Whereas, Since the adoption of the Near North Side Area Comprehensive Plan (“NNSACP”), there have been multiple projects, proposals, or initiatives in and around the 30th Street Corridor involving sustainable economic development, stormwater management, transportation improvements or recreational facilities; and

Whereas, One catalytic concept recommended by the NNSACP is the development of a series of public amenities, transportation corridors, trails and stormwater management projects that would tie together neighborhoods within the plan area; and

Whereas, There was a need to unify all of these efforts to further the goals of the NNSACP and related projects in the 30th Street Corridor and surrounding neighborhoods; and

Whereas, The CCSAP planning area is generally bounded by West Custer Avenue and Lincoln Creek to the north, North 20th Street to the east, West Burleigh to the south and North Sherman Boulevard to the west; and
