Title:
Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of the 2018 High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area project awards.

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to continue its participation in a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) project. The funding comes in the form of five separate grant awards, relating to the five task forces on which Police personnel participate.

Body:
Whereas, Under the terms of CFDA #95.001, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grants funds for a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) project; and

Whereas, The Common Council in file 170026 approved funding for federal fiscal year 2017 for Police Department participation in the Milwaukee HIDTA project; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Police Department’s participation in the HIDTA project for the period of January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019 would cost $2,548,122 of which $509,818 (20%) would be provided by the grantor and $2,038,304 (80%) would be provided by the City; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2018 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the HIDTA project:
