This resolution designates the Lafayette Murdock/Emily Groom House at 1903 N. Cambridge Avenue, in the 3rd Aldermanic District, as a City of Milwaukee Historic Site.
...Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Historic Preservation Ordinance, s. 320-21 of the Code of Ordinances, provides that historic sites, structures and districts may be designated by the Common Council upon the recommendation of the Historic Preservation Commission; and
Whereas, The Historic Preservation Commission, at its January 14, 2013 meeting, voted unanimously to recommend permanent designation of the Lafayette Murdock/Emily Groom House at 1903 N. Cambridge Avenue as a historic site;
Whereas, This site possesses integrity of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship and association and fulfills the following criterion set forth in s. 320-21(3):
e-3. Its identification with a person or persons who significantly contributed to the culture and development of the city.
e-5. Its embodiment of the distinguishing characteristics of an architectural type or specimen.
e-9. Its unique location as a singular physical characteristic which represents an
established and familiar visual feature of a neighborhood, community or the city.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Lafayette Murdock/Emily Groom House at 1903 N. Cambridge Avenue, and further described as follows:
Tax Key No. 3550033000, Cambridge Subd Part Lot 6 Sec 21 & Lots 15-16 Blk 198 Rogers’ Addn in NE & SE 1/4 Sec 21-7-22 Block 242 Lot 3 & S 20’ Lot 2
