Public testimony in opposition: Scott Beaudry, resident, testified of environmental contamination and toxicity from this property and nearby or neighboring landfill, scrap yards, and dump sites. The site would be open to the public to access, which would be a public health hazard concern. Mr. Leichtling said that the local alder office did not have a position in favor or oppose. Member Crane moved approval, seconded by vice-chair Nemec. (Prevailed 4-1-1) Member Washington voting no, and member Sas-Perez abstained.

Title

Analysis

This zoning change was requested by Milwaukee County Parks and will reflect the use of the site as open space on a property known as the Pyritz Greenseams Property.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  That is added to the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances a new section to read as follows:

 

The zoning map is amended to change the zoning for 11715 West County Line Road, Tax Key No. 001-9997-000, from Industrial Light (IL1) to Parks (PK).
