Analysis
Currently, the zoning code treats “broadcasting or recording studio” as a single land use. This ordinance creates separate definitions and district-by-district use classifications for broadcasting studios and recording studios.

The ordinance further provides that recording studios shall be classified as a limited use in all zoning districts where broadcasting studios are currently classified as a permitted or limited use. The limited use standard is that a recording studio shall not be operated between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. If this standard is not met, the studio shall be classified as a prohibited use.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 295-201-71 of the code is amended to read:
