Analysis
This resolution permits the City of Milwaukee to execute a quit claim deed to dedicate land for public right-of-way and to amend an existing easement to relocate it from the right-of-way.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File No. 091263, adopted on February 9, 2010, authorized the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (“WISDOT”) for the reconstruction of the northbound on-ramp to I-794 at South Carferry Drive and authorized City of Milwaukee (“City”) expenditures for the City’s share of the improvements; and

Whereas, WISDOT has requested that the City dedicate approximately 5,548 square feet of the City property at 2401 South Lincoln Memorial Drive to accommodate reconstruction of the on-ramp; and

Whereas, The legal description of the property to be acquired and dedicated is as follows and is illustrated in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File:

That part of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 9, Township 6 North, Range 22 East, described as follows: Commencing at the northwest corner of said 1/4 Section; thence North 88°06’59” East, along the north line of said 1/4 Section, 2072.96 feet to a point; thence South 03°06’07” West 36.95 feet to a point in the present easterly line of the Lake Freeway, Interstate 794; thence South 05°18’15” East, along said easterly line, 87.72 feet to a point; thence South 01°14’19” West, continuing along said easterly line, 127.66 feet to the point of beginning of the land to be described; thence South 01°14’19” West, ...
