Title

Substitute resolution relating to contributions from property owners involved in lead remediation.

Analysis

This resolution directs the Health Commissioner to explore the possibilities for increasing the contributions of property owners to the costs of lead remediation of their properties. It further directs the Health Department to report the findings to the Common Council by March 31, 2022.

Body

Whereas, A footnote to the 2022 Adopted Budget for the Health Department expresses the intention to direct the Health Commissioner of Health to explore the possibilities for increasing the contributions of property owners to the costs of lead remediation of their properties; and

 

Whereas, The Common Council must adopt a resolution to implement the intent of this footnote; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Health Commissioner is directed to explore the possibilities for increasing the contributions of property owners to the costs of lead remediation of their properties; and, be it.

 

Further Resolved, The Health Commissioner shall report the findings to the Common Council by March 31, 2022.
