Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Operations Division to accept and fund a 2021 Urban Nonpoint Source & Storm Water Management Program Planning grant from Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) in the amount of up to $87,591 with a city share of $55,941, and a grantor share of $31,650. The purpose of the grant is to raise awareness of the importance of reduced road salt usage by training city winter maintenance professionals and implementing a public outreach campaign.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from WDNR to raise awareness of the importance of reduced road salt usage by training city winter maintenance professionals and implementing a public outreach campaign; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 1/1/2022 to 12/31/2023 would cost $87,591 of which, $55,941 (64%) would be provided by the city and $31,650 (36%) would be provided by the grantor; now therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2022 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects the following amounts for the program/project titled 2021 Road Salt Reduction Education Grant:
