Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a Homeland Security WEM K-9 Camera grant.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) to accept and fund a Homeland Security Wisconsin Emergency Management SWAT K-9 Camera grant through the State of Wisconsin, Department of Military Affairs (DMA), in the amount of $22,000.00 with a city share of $0, and a grantor share of $22,000.00. The grant will fund the purchase of a wireless K-9 Storm Camera System which will allow the K-9 handler to monitor video from the K-9 during tactical operations.

Whereas, Under CFDA 97.067, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U.S. Department of Justice through the State of Wisconsin DMA; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/5/20 to 8/31/21 would cost $22,000.00, 100% of which would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2020 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: WEM K-9 Camera grant.
