Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of an Impaired Driving Enforcement 2020-21 grant.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund an Impaired Driving Enforcement grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; in the amount of $249,000 of which $199,200 is being provided by the grantor and $49,800 would be provided by the City and its partners as a soft match. The purpose of this grant is to detect and apprehend motor vehicle operators under the influence of an intoxicant or controlled substance.

Whereas, Under the terms of CFDA #20.616 the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for an Alcohol Enforcement grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/01/20 to 09/30/21 would cost $249,000, of which $199,200 would be provided by the Grantor, and $49,800 would be provided as a Local Match; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2020 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: 2020-2021 Impaired Driving Enforcement Grant:
