Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a 2020/2021 Homeland Security/Southeast Wisconsin Health and Medical Threat Intel Analyst grant.

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a Homeland Security STAC Health and Medical Threat Intel Analyst grant from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Military Affairs, in the amount of $80,000 with a city share of $0, and a grantor share of $80,000. The purpose of this funding is to primarily continue funding the contracted services of a Medical Threat Intelligence Analyst who will continue working with the STAC, Southeast WI Healthcare Emergency Readiness Coalition, public health, healthcare, and emergency management partners to provide real-time tactical, operational, and strategic medical information to regional and state stakeholders.

Body:
Whereas, Under CFDA 97.067, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 7/1/20 to 6/30/21 would cost $80,000 of which $0 (0%) would be provided by the city and $80,000 (100%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That, the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2020 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: 2020-21 HS-Threat Intel Analyst Grant.
