Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Green Infrastructure Tree Planting grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Section) to accept and fund a Green Infrastructure Tree Planting grant from Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) in the amount of up to $194,000 with a city share of $0 and a grantor share of $194,000. The purpose of the grant is to plant 315 trees within the grantor’s target area from 76th Street to 35th Street and Mill Road to Villard Avenue to capture stormwater and reduce neighborhood flooding.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from MMSD to plant 315 trees within the grantor’s target area from 76th Street and 35th Street and Mill Road and Villard Avenue; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 1/1/2020 to 12/31/2020 would cost $194,000 of which, $0 would be provided by the city and $194,000 (100%) would be provided by the grantor; now therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2020 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects the following amounts for the program/project titled MMSD Green Infrastructure Tree Planting Grant:
