Title
Resolution relating to acceptance and expenditure of up to $50,000 in contributions by the Department of Administration - Environmental Collaboration Office from donors for the Water Centric City Design project.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Administration - Environmental Collaboration Office to accept and expend up to $50,000 in contributions from donors to support signage, streetscaping improvements, exhibits and maps that showcase Milwaukee as a Water Centric City.

Body
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and

Whereas, The ReFresh Milwaukee sustainability plan (Common Council File Number 131035) calls for establishing “Milwaukee as America’s Water-Centric City”; and

Whereas, the Environmental Collaboration Office developed the Water Centric City initiative to showcase Milwaukee’s leadership in managing our water resources in a sustainable and resilient way; and

Whereas, in preparation for major conferences and events that are coming to Milwaukee, the Environmental Collaboration Office held stakeholder events and a public design charrette to generate ideas for streetscape improvements, primarily on S 2nd Street and E Greenfield Avenue between the Global Water Center and UWM-School of Freshwater Sciences, known as the Water Centric City Design project; and

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Administration-Environmental Collaboration Office is authorized to accept and expend up to $50,000 in contributions from donors for projects identified in the Water Centric City Design project; and, be it
