Body
Whereas, The United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County has managed the HaRUNbee Walk/Run for Healthy Birth Outcomes event for the last 5 years through a grant from University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health’s Lifecourse Initiative for Healthy Families; and

Whereas, The goal of this event is to raise awareness of the threat of infant mortality, promote a sustainable community collaboration that contributes to the elimination of racial disparities in healthy birth outcomes and reduce infant mortality; and

Whereas, Rates of infant mortality are consistently and significantly higher among minority populations in Milwaukee than non-minorities; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the HaRUNbee Walk/Run for Healthy Birth Outcomes (HaRUNbee Walk/Run) is established as an official City event held annually; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Clerk’s Office is directed to manage the HaRUNbee Walk/Run event and solicit donations to support the event; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Clerk’s Office is authorized to accept and expend donations to support the HaRUNbee Walk/Run event in an amount not to exceed $1 million annually; and, be it
