Title:
Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a 2019 Beat Patrol Overtime Grant.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a Beat Patrol Overtime Grant from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Justice, in the amount of $150,000 which is entirely funded by the Grantor. The purpose of this grant is to provide overtime funding for additional officers whose primary duty is beat patrol in various parts of the City. This grant shall run for the period of January 1, 2019, through December 31, 2019.
Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Justice for overtime for additional beat patrol in various parts of the City; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 01/01/2019 to 12/31/2019 would cost $150,000 of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2019 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects fund, the following amount for the program titled: Beat Patrol Program Grant:
