Title

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the surplus declaration and sale of City-owned property according to the conditions in a Land Disposition Report pursuant to Section 304-49, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Public Library Board of Trustees (“MPL”) voted to surplus the former Forest Home Branch Library, located at 1432 West Forest Home Avenue (“Property”), at its meeting on September 26, 2017 and authorized the City of Milwaukee (“City”) to offer the property for sale as of November 1, 2017; and

Whereas, The Department of City Development (“DCD”) advertised the Property for sale by Request for Proposals until August 30, 2018; and

Whereas, DCD staff received one proposal, which was from Voces De La Frontera, Inc. (“Buyer”); and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission (“CPC”) makes recommendations to the Common Council regarding the sale of land used for public facilities, and CPC provided its recommendation and approval of the surplus declaration at its meeting on October 22, 2018; and

Whereas, DCD and MPL recommend that the Common Council approve the Land Disposition Report, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File, providing details of the Buyer’s desired purchase and also approving the sale of the Property to the Buyer consistent with the Land Disposition Report; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Land Disposition Report is approved and DCD is authorized to enter into an Offer to Purchase with the Buyer, materially consistent with the Land Disposition Report, and then convey the Property to the Buyer in accordance therewith; and, be it
