Resolution authorizing acceptance and funding of a 2017/2018 Wisconsin Human Trafficking Task Force grant.

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a Wisconsin Human Trafficking Task Force grant from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the amount of $54,126 with a city share of $-0- and a grantor share of $54,126. The purpose of this grant is to fund overtime expenses for three officers whose purpose is to address cases involving sex trafficking and forced labor trafficking, as needed.

Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for a Wisconsin Human Trafficking Task Force grant from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/01/17 to 09/30/18 would cost $54,126, of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department is authorized to accept this grant without further approval unless its terms change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2018 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled: Wisconsin Human Trafficking Task Force Grant:
