Body
Whereas, On June 2, 2015, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee (“Common Council”) approved File No. 150029 that adopted the Menomonee Valley Area Comprehensive Plan Update (“MVP 2.0”) as an element of the City of Milwaukee Comprehensive Plan; and

Whereas, On July 11, 2017, the Common Council approved File No. 170044 that established general design standards for the Menomonee Valley Riverwalk Site Plan Review Overlay Zone as recommended as a “catalytic project” in MVP 2.0; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee (“City”), Department of City Development (“DCD”), partnered with the Menomonee Valley Partners (“MVP”) to engage the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Community Design Solutions (“CDS”) to undertake a design charrette to refine ideas for specific vacant or underutilized sites in the Menomonee Valley, including concepts for a future Valley Riverwalk; and

Whereas, Building off of the ideas generated during the Valley design charrette and the recommendations of MVP 2.0, the MVP wishes to hire a consultant to create more detailed Riverwalk design standards and concepts unique to the Menomonee Valley to replace the current general design standards for the existing Menomonee Valley Riverwalk Overlay District; and

Whereas, The City attempts to provide a financial match to the participating local organization or Business Improvement District to carry out planning, market analysis and design project...
