Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a 2017-18 Homeland Security Southeast Wisconsin Threat Analysis Center Server Project Grant.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a Homeland Security STAC Server Project Grant from the State of Wisconsin Emergency Management Department of Military Affairs (DMA), in the amount of $30,000 with a city share of $0, and a grantor share of $30,000. The purpose of this funding is to purchase a new server for the Intel Fusion Center’s WiWatch portal which is used to receive potential reports of suspicious criminal or terrorist activities.
Body:
Whereas, Under CFDA 97.067, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin DMA; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 11/01/17 to 5/31/18 would cost $30,000, 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That, the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2017 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: Southeast Wisconsin Threat Analysis Center grant.
