Body
Whereas, Plaintiff Willie J. Newman filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee and certain employees thereof; and
Whereas, The City has agreed to settle the lawsuit for the amount of $410,000; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this claim; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that proper city officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue City checks totaling the amount of $410,000, $225,000 payable to the order of Willie J. Newman, and $185,000 payable to Bornstein Law Officers, S.C. Client Trust Account, 735 North Water Street, Suite 737, Milwaukee, WI 53202-4126, in full and final payment of any claims raised in the subject lawsuit, upon receipt of a General Release of Claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney; said amount to be charged to Damages and Claims Account-636506 - Fund No. 0001 - Organization 1490 - Program 2631 - Sub Class S118.
