Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised project agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design and improvement of traffic signals on West Forest Home Avenue and South 27th Street at six Connecting Highway Intersections with State and Federal aid under the Highway Safety Improvement Program. The estimated total cost of the project is $1,089,350, which is an increase in construction cost of $134,450, of which the City’s share is $13,445 and the Grantor’s share is $121,005. Construction funds for this project will be in future resolutions.

Whereas, A project agreement has been executed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the City of Milwaukee for the improvement of traffic signals on West Forest Home Avenue and South 27th Street at six Connecting Highway Intersections, with 90% State and Federal aid, under the Highway Safety Improvement Program, in accordance with the Common Council Resolution File Number 140654, adopted September 23, 2014; and

Whereas, As part of the preliminary engineering process, construction costs have been refined; and

Whereas, The project is currently scheduled for construction in 2018, and construction funds for the project will be requested in a separate resolution...
