Analysis
This Resolution Authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to execute a State Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for a project known as Bridge Bicycle Plating and to fund preliminary engineering for the project using Transportation Alternatives Program funds in 4th and 12th Aldermanic Districts. The total estimated cost of the project is $515,865 with a grantor share of $412,692, and a City share of $103,173. The total estimated preliminary engineering costs for this project is $70,345, with a grantor share of $56,276 and a City share of $14,069. Approval of construction costs will be in a future resolution.

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee previously approved File Number 131728, which authorized the City Engineer to apply for five Federal Transportation Alternatives Program grants for the 2014-2018 application cycle, with an 80 percent grantor share and a 20 percent local share; and

Whereas, Preliminary approval has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, along with the State Municipal Agreement for the programming and construction of bridge bicycle plating on two bridges under the 2015 Transportation Alternatives Program; and
