Analysis
This substitute resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised project agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for intersection modifications at West Silver Spring Drive and North Teutonia Avenue with 90 percent Federal and/or State Aid under the Surface Transportation Program. The revised agreement increases the federal funding for preliminary engineering on this project. The federal funding is capped at $783,000 for this project. The total estimated cost for the project is $1,000,000, of which the City of Milwaukee’s share is $217,000.

Whereas, A project agreement was executed by the WISDOT and the City of Milwaukee for the preliminary engineering work for the intersection modifications at West Silver Spring Drive and North Teutonia Avenue in accordance with Common Council Resolution File Number 040866 adopted on November 3, 2004; and

Whereas, Preliminary engineering activities have begun and a consultant has been engaged to work on the project; and

Whereas, The City requested and the consultant prepared a revised cost estimate for the project; and

Whereas, The consultant’s revised estimated cost for preliminary engineering is estimated at $250,000 and the original estimate for preliminary engineering was $100,000; and

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation in this revised agreement has increased the federal funding for preliminary engineering but has capped federal funds to $108,000 for preliminary engineering and previo...
