Title
Substitute resolution assigning custody of current and future law-enforcement artifacts and memorabilia to the Milwaukee Police Historical Society ("Historical Society") and allocating space in the Safety Academy to the Historical Society for the storage and display of these artifacts and memorabilia.
Analysis
This substitute resolution provides that the following law enforcement artifacts and memorabilia shall be under the custodianship of the Historical Society:
1. All items currently in the display cases of the Historical Society at the Safety Academy, as well as all items placed in the display cases in these corridors in the future.
2. All items stored at the Safety Academy.
3. All police chief portraits currently located in the "mock court room" (former chapel, Room 109) of the Safety Academy, as well as additional police chief portraits displayed in this room in the future. Display of these portraits is subject to the approval of the Milwaukee Police Department.

This substitute resolution further provides that the following spaces in the Safety Academy shall be assigned to the Historical Society for current and future storage and display of the Historical Society's collection of law-enforcement artifacts and memorabilia:
1. The western corridor of the 1st floor (the corridor which affords access to Room 17) from the entrance to Room 188 south to the southern corridor of the 1st floor (the corridor which affords access to Rooms 158 and 161).
2. The southern corridor of the 1st floor from the western corridor of the 1st floor to the eastern corridor of the 1st floor (the corridor which affords access to Room 182).
3. The eastern corridor of the 1st floor from the entrance to Room 182 south to the southern corridor of the 1st floor, when deemed agreeable by the Milwaukee Police Department.
