Title
Substitute resolution relating to a Cooperation Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee for the receipt and furnishing of services, materials and equipment by and between the City and the Redevelopment Authority.
Analysis
This resolution approves an Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee for the furnishing of services, materials and equipment by and between the City, through its various departments, and the Redevelopment Authority, with reimbursement for such services, materials and equipment in accordance with the terms and conditions of said Agreement. It further authorizes and directs the proper City officials to enter into and properly execute this agreement.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee ("City") has historically entered into annual Cooperation Agreements ("Agreements") with the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee ("Redevelopment Authority") for the furnishing of services, materials and equipment to the Authority by the City through its various departments; and
Whereas, With respect to the Redevelopment Authority, consistent with Wisconsin's Urban Redevelopment Law, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee and the Redevelopment Authority have a mutual interest in carrying out blight elimination and urban renewal programs and projects to prevent the recurrence of blight through the clearance, replanning, rehabilitation and reconstruction of substandard and unsanitary areas; and
Whereas, The purposes and goals of the Redevelopment Authority are shared by the City and the furnishing of services, materials and equipment, upon request and as needed, by and between the Redevelopment Authority and the City is determined to be in furtherance of their mutual and best interests; and
