This motion consolidates existing policies relating to assignment of Common Council member offices in the City Clerk's Office, Common Council member parking spaces, seats on the Council floor and space for legislative assistants which are currently contained in resolution File Number 82-1638-a and motion File Number 911415, and incorporates such policies into the Common Council Procedure and Rules. Current practice when a tie exists is to give preference on the basis of the alphabetical order of surnames; the new policy gives preference on the basis of lot.
