Title

Analysis
This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Part 1 of ordinance File Number 110440 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 2, 2012 - January 8, 2012):

Change all Pay Range designations in Part I to 3 digits. A Pay Range ending in “X” will indicate that titles are exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and are not eligible to receive overtime. A Pay Range ending with an “N” indicates that a title is non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible to receive overtime.

Part 2. Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 110440 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 2, 2012 - January 8, 2012):

Under Pay Range 2EN, add the following footnote after the titles of Special Enforcement Inspector and Environmental Risk Officer: “(13)” An employee transferred or promoted into this title will be placed in the pay step that corresponds with demonstrated core competencies and certifications. If the employee’s prior rate is higher than the appropriate step, the employee will retain their previous rate and will move to the next higher step when they have demonstrated the required core competencies and certifications.”
Part 3. Part 1, Section 3 of ordinance File Number 110440 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 2, 2012 - January 8, 2012):

Under Pay Range 3BN, delete footnote “(2)”.

Under Pay Range 3FN, delete footnote “(2)”.

Under Pay Range 3HN, amend footnote “(4)” to read as follows: “An ...
