This resolution appropriates $160,000 from the 2002 Common Council Contingent Fund to the Department of Employee Relations' Unemployment Compensation Special Purpose Account for payment of unemployment compensation claims during the final quarter of 2002.

Whereas, The Department of Employee Relations' Unemployment Compensation Special Purpose Account is budgeted at $800,000 for 2002; and
Whereas, Through September 2002, $758,811 has been paid in unemployment compensation claims, leaving only $41,189 to fund the final 3 months of 2002; and
Whereas, Additional funds are needed to pay unemployment compensation claims during the final quarter of 2002; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that an amount not to exceed $160,000 shall be transferred from the 2002 Common Council Contingent Fund (0001-9990-0001-C001-006300-2002) to the Department of Employee Relations' Unemployment Compensation Special Purpose Account (612501-0001-1652-1615S172-2002); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish all funds and necessary accounting procedures to fulfil the intent of this resolution.
