Body

Whereas, Big Truck Day is an annual event hosted by the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee Downtown BID #21; and

 

Whereas, This free event provides kids and families with the opportunity to explore dozens of big rigs from the Department of Public Works, Milwaukee Fire Department, Milwaukee Police Department, and Milwaukee County Transit System; and

 

Whereas, The goal of the event is for children and community members to learn about City jobs, equipment, and City services, while families enjoy hands-on experiences and activities; and

 

Whereas, The 2026 Budget was adopted by Common Council File Number 250001 on November 7, 2025; and

 

Whereas, Amendment 105 placed a footnote in the 2026 Budget encouraging all City departments to host events like Big Truck Day to promote City employment; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that all City departments are encouraged to host events like Big Truck Day to promote City employment.
