Title
Resolution relating to acceptance and funding of a 2024 Clean Heavy Duty Vehicles Environmental Protection Agency Grant regarding the “Greening Out Fleet” program.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Department of Public Works to accept and fund a 2024 Clean Heavy Duty Vehicles Environmental Protection Agency Grant for $3,748,910 with a grantor of $3,020,910 and a city share of $728,000. The purpose of this grant is to install EV charging infrastructure at DPW-Field Headquarters and place eight EV dump trucks into potholing operations in Milwaukee’s highest-need communities as defined by the department’s equity data model.
Outcomes over the term of the grant include: a) 8 EV dump trucks placed in potholing operations in Milwaukee’s highest-need neighborhoods b) Install 50 level two and 2 level three DC EV chargers at DPW-Field Headquarters.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Environmental Protection Agency; and
Whereas, the operation of this grant from 01/01/2025 to 12/31/2027 would cost $3,748,910 of which $3,020,910 (81%) would be provided by the grantor and $728,000 (19%) would be provided by the city; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2025 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects the following amount for the project titled: Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Regular Grant:
