Body
Whereas, The City Channel records and produces video content of Common Council and Council committee meetings, as well as gavel-to-gavel coverage of other City boards and commissions, special City events and other informational programming, and broadcasts this content on various cable stations and through its livestreaming website; and
Whereas, CNZ Communications LLC operates over-the-air television stations in California, Texas, Georgia, and Wisconsin; and
Whereas, The broadcasting of City Channel programming content by CNZ may help CNZ to fulfill its obligations under Federal Communications Commission rules and may increase viewership of City Channel programming content; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council ratifies and approves the memorandum of understanding between CNZ Communications LLC and the City of Milwaukee, in substantially the same form as the draft MOU attached to this file, for a minimum of 3 hours of broadcast time per week on CNZ’s Milwaukee-area main high-definition channel WMKE Channel 21.1 to air programming content supplied by City Channel, a copy of which is attached to this file; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the proper City officials are directed to execute the agreement to carry out this purpose.
