Title

Resolution approving a lease with Solutions in the Land, LLC for the Paliafito Park property at 901 South 3^rd Street, in the 12^th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes a lease for a City-owned property according to conditions outlined in the lease.

Body

Whereas, Staff from the Department of Public Works and the City Attorney's office have met with representatives from Solutions in the Land, LLC and negotiated the terms of a long-term lease for that Paliafito Park located at 901 South 3^rd Street, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council file; and

Whereas, Solutions in the Land, LLC desires to create improvements within Paliafito Park, as shown in the attached conceptual plan; and

Whereas, The proposed lease permits Solutions in the Land, LLC to program activities in the park in consideration of it assuming maintenance responsibilities of the park; and

Whereas, The proposed lease will facilitate greater use of and activities in the park, ensure continued public access, and establish maintenance requirements while helping to reduce municipal expenditures; now, therefore be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the lease with Solutions in the Land, LLC for the property known as Paliafito Park at 901 South 3^rd Street, is approved; and be it

Further Resolved, That the proper City officials are authorized to execute the lease with Solutions in the Land, LLC; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Attorney's office is authorized to make minor modifications to said lease that are consistent with the intent and purpose of this resolution.
