Whereas, Viva Nuestra Herencia is a vibrant day-long festival celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month highlighting the diversity and enduring contributions of the latino and Hispanic communities; and
Whereas, Viva Nuestra Herencia is scheduled to take place on September 20th, 2026 along a stretch of South 16th Street; and
Whereas, The festival will include music, dancing, traditional foods, artisanal vendors, and activities for children; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Viva Nuestra Herencia is declared to be an official City event; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council-City Clerk’s Office is authorized to accept and expend contributions for this purpose; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish a special account within the Common Council-City Clerk’s budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it
Further Resolved, That all City departments are directed to assist as necessary to make Viva Nuestra Herencia successful.
