Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a document titled “Cost Sharing Memo of Understanding Between the City of Milwaukee and the Cities of Greenfield and West Allis” for the cost sharing of the design of the South Powerline Trail from the existing Powerline Trail to W. Cleveland Ave. and S. 13th St. to S. 6th St. with a total estimated cost of the project to be $191,675.00, of which the City’s share is $122,671.66, the City of Greenfield’s share is $25,208.98, and the City of West Allis’ share is $43,794.36.
Body
Whereas, the City of Milwaukee Common Council adopted funding for this project by resolution (File Number 260440); and,

Whereas, The Department of Public Works shall notify the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee of project cost overruns and changes in scope approved by the Department of Public Works; and

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee recognizes that the City may be 100 percent liable for project cost overruns and changes in scope as approved by the Department of Public Works; and

Whereas, the City of Greenfield has constructed the Powerline Trail from South 104th Street to Pondview Park; and

Whereas, The 2010 Milwaukee by Bike Plan recommended the South Side Powerline Trail as a proposed new off-street trail; and

Whereas, The multi-jurisdictional South Powerline Trail Feasibility Study identified the proposed route; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee will be the lead agency of the project design; and

Whereas, This project is expected to be completed in 2027; now, therefore, be it
