Title
Resolution effectuating a provision of the 2009 Budget relating to the 4715 West Vliet Street Renovation capital account.
Analysis
This resolution implements a footnote to the 4715 West Vliet Street Renovation capital account. The footnote requires the Police Department, prior to release of funds for further improvements to the building commonly referred to as “The Old Third District Station”, to submit a renovation plan for Common Council review and approval.
Body
Whereas, 2008 capital funding, along with Asset Forfeiture Funds, provided $525,000 to address code and occupational compliance issues on the first floor (Phase I) of the Old Third District Station located at 4715 West Vliet Street; and
Whereas, The 2009 Proposed Budget provides $550,000 in capital financing earmarked for Phase II of the project, consisting of necessary plumbing, additional HVAC, and electrical upgrades necessary to allow for use of the second floor of the Old Third District Station; and
Whereas, By amendment and footnote to the 2009 Adopted Budget, the Common Council wishes to ensure that further work on the Old Third District Station is performed efficiently and within budget; now, therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that release of these funds for the further improvement of the Old Third District Station is contingent upon approval by the Common Council by resolution of a renovation plan submitted by the Police Department.
