Analysis
This resolution authorizes the sale of seven vacant City of Milwaukee owned lots to Milwaukee Community Crossroads for new single family home construction, according to the conditions in a Land Disposition Report pursuant to Section 304-49, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has been the owner of the seven residential vacant lots at 2523 West Mineral Street, 1208 West Wright Street, 1214 West Wright Street, 1218 West Wright Street, 3063 North 21st Street, 3018 North 21st Street, and 2948 North 23rd Street since at least prior to March 24, 2024; and
Whereas, Milwaukee Community Crossroads (“MCC”) has the funding and capacity to build seven new construction single family homes in 2026 and 2027 through their YouthBuild program and has approached the Department of City Development (“DCD”) requesting to purchase these lots; and
Whereas, DCD recommends sale to MCC of these three lots as summarized in a Land Disposition Report (“LDR”) and a Due Diligence Checklist (“DDC”), copies of which are attached to this Common Council File; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the LDR and DDC are approved and that DCD is authorized to enter into a Purchase and Sale Agreement (“PASA”) with MCC, materially consistent with the LDR and then convey the property to the Buyer in accordance therewith; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of DCD, or designee, is authorized to sign the PASA, deed and requisite closing documents and to close the transaction and to take such actions as may be needed to effectuate the terms of the LDR and this resolution; and, be...
