This resolution directs the Comptroller’s Office to provide a quarterly expenditure report for all departmental accounts, including Special Funds and Special Purpose Accounts to the Common Council.
Body
Whereas, City departments apply expenditures to their department budget and various Special Funds and Special Purpose Accounts; and
Whereas, The City’s independently elected Comptroller monitors the status of the City’s financial accounts; and
Whereas, Decisions made by the City’s Comptroller may have an effect on the status of the City’s financial accounts; and
Whereas, The tracking and periodic reporting of these expenditures would provide a snapshot of how departments are implementing the intent of their budgeted funding; and
Whereas, The 2026 Budget was adopted by Common Council File Number 250001 on November 7, 2025; and
Whereas, Amendment 41 placed a footnote in the 2026 Budget directing the Comptroller’s Office to provide a monthly expenditure report for all departmental Special Funds and Special Purpose Accounts; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Comptroller’s Office is directed to provide a quarterly expenditure report for all departmental accounts, including Special Funds and Special Purpose Accounts to the Common Council.
