Minutes note: Recommendation of nonrenewal of a Class "D" Bartender License application of Musah R. Saleh based upon non-appearance. Recommendation of nonrenewal of a Class "B" Tavern and Tavern Dance application of Michelle Townsend based upon police report and neighborhood objection for the premises at 3001 N. Richards St.. ("Mechelle's Club") in the 6th Aldermanic District. (Written exceptions have been filed) The president questioned whether the members of the Common Council read the Report and Recommendations of the Utilities and Licenses Committee in these matters and any written exceptions, if filed by the licensees? Ayes: 17 - Ald. Herron, D'Amato, Henningsen, Bohl, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Donovan, Richards, Cameron, Dudzik, Sanchez, Pawlinski, Breier, Nardelli, Murphy, Hines and President Pratt. THE CLERK asked whether Musa R. Saleh and Michelle Towsend were present and wished to address the Council. Musa R. Saleh was not present. Michelle Towsend present with Counsel. ALD. NARDELLI moved that the Common Council do now resolve itself into a committee of the Whole for the purpose of hearing from Attorney for the applicant and the City Attorney's Office. PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE Attorney Michael Whitcomb, representing Michelle Towsend, applicant and Assistant City Attorney Bruce Schrimpf appeared and addressed the committee relative to the foregoing matter. ALD. HERRON moved that the committee do now rise. The motion prevailed. ALD. GORDON moved to amend the Utilities and Licenses Committee recommendation to renewal with a 90 day suspension. The motion failed by the following vote: Ayes: 3 - Ald. Gordon, Cameron and Sanchez. Noes: 14 - Ald. Herron, D'Amato, Henningsen, Bohl, Johnson-Odom, Donovan, Richards, Dudzik, Pawlinski, Breier, Nardelli, Murphy, Hines and President Pratt. ALD. PRATT moved for adoption of file 020122. The motion prevailed. Ayes: 17 - Ald. Herron, D'Amato, Henningsen, Bohl, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Donovan, Richards, Cameron, Dudzik, Sanchez, Pawlinski, Breier, Nardelli, Murphy, Hines and President Pratt. Noes: 0. ALD. PAWLINSKI moved adoption of the foregoing committee report. Ayes: 17 - Ald. Herron, D'Amato, Henningsen, Bohl, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Donovan, Richards, Cameron, Dudzik, Sanchez, Pawlinski, Breier, Nardelli, Murphy, Hines and President Pratt. Noes: 0.
