Resolution directing the Department of Public Works-Operations Division, Buildings and Fleet Services to fill the position of Vehicle Service Technician as provided in the 2008 approved City Budget.

Analysis

This resolution directs the Department of Public Works-Operations Division, Buildings and Fleet Services to fill the position of Vehicle Service Technician as intended through budget amendment #65a as provided in the 2008 approved City Budget.

Body

Whereas, The 2008 City Proposed Budget called for the elimination of one position of Vehicle Service Technician (SR 254); and

 

Whereas, Through budget amendment #65a, position authority, funding, direct labor hours and FTEs were restored for one position of Vehicle Service Technician by reducing the Vehicle Repair Services account within the Department of Public Works-Operations Division, Buildings and Fleet Services; and

 

Whereas, The Mayor vetoed budget amendment #65a, and the Common Council overrode the Mayor’s veto by a vote of 13 Aye, 1 No and 1 Excused; and

 

Whereas, The Department of Public Works has still not acted to fill the position of Vehicle Service Technician as intended pursuant to the 2008 approved City Budget; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Public Works-Operations Division, Buildings and Fleet Services is directed to fill the vacant position of Vehicle Service Technician.
