Resolution authorizing acceptance and expenditure of the 2014 Milwaukee/Minneapolis Summit to Combat Gun Violence from the Joyce Foundation.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Mayor’s Office to accept and expend the 2014 Summit to Combat Gun Violence grant in the amount of $38,000, which is funded 100% by the grantor. The purpose of the grant is to cover the cost to bring regional criminal justice partners together in an interactive forum to address gun violence.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee is eligible for grant funds from the Joyce Foundation to host the 2014 Milwaukee/Minneapolis Summit to Combat Gun Violence; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 7/22/14 to 1/31/15 will cost $38,000, of which 100% is provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Mayor’s Office is authorized to accept and expend this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it
Further Resolved That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2014 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Funds, the following amount for the project titled 2014 Summit to Combat Gun Violence Grant:
