Analysis
This resolution directs the Department of Public Works (DPW) to contract with an accounting firm for the City Hall Restoration Project to monitor the scope of services, budget and expenditures for the entire project with the firm reporting directly to the Common Council and the Comptroller's Office.
Body
Whereas, The City Hall Restoration Project is estimated at $44 million, to address structural needs by securing the exterior of the building involving various phases: design and contract documentation, construction contract bidding, construction services and a historical structure report; and
Whereas, The construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2005 with completion in 2008; and
Whereas, The construction services include payment requests for completed work by contractors and professionals; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the RFP and contract for an accounting firm to monitor the scope of services, budget, and expenditures for the City Hall Restoration Project shall include a provision that the firm report directly to the Common Council and the Comptroller's Office; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the accounting firm shall provide progress reports with information on the financial and physical status of the project against the project plan, budget and actual costs; and, be it
