Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File #121424 relative to acceptance and funding of the Milwaukee County Community Safety Data Repository Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice in the amount of $50,000. The purpose of the grant is to create a data collection system/repository of criminal justice and partner information to carry out the necessary research and analysis from a merged data set to determine the effectiveness of the JAG Criminal Justice Coordinating Council’s Evidence Based Decision Making Initiative.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File #121424 authorized the The City of Milwaukee Health Department to accept and Fund the Milwaukee County Community Safety Data Repository Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice in order to create a data collection system/repository of criminal justice and partner information. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $50,000; and

Whereas, The total expenditures of this program is increased by $85,000 and extended to March 31, 2014; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that acceptance of the grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2014 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Milwaukee County Community Safety Data Repository:
