Title
Resolution permitting a minor modification to the Detailed Planned Development known as Forest County Potawatomi Legacy District, Phase 1, on lands located on the South Side of West Canal Street and West of South 16th Street, in the 8th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution allows for the temporary placement of up to eight modular trailers, to be configured in two clusters of four trailers each. The trailers will be on temporary foundations with no excavation or ground disturbance. The trailers will serve as a new employee recruitment and job training center, to operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for a period between 9 months to 1 year. The temporary center is needed to secure new employees for the 500,000 square foot addition to the Potawatomi Bingo Casino at 1721 West Canal Street.

Whereas, Section 295-907-3(i) of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances permits variation to planned developments after approval of the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee (“Common Council”); and
Whereas, The detailed plan for a planned development known as Forest County Potawatomi Legacy District, Phase 1, was approved by the Common Council on May 15, 2007, under File No. 070100; and
Whereas, The temporary placement of up to eight modular trailers on the site as a new employee recruitment and training center for a period of 9 months to 1 year, is consistent with the spirit and intent of the approved plan and will not adversely affect surrounding development and a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File as Exhibit A which is on file in the office of the City Clerk and made a part as though fully set forth herein; now, therefore, be it
