Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a document titled “Grant Agreement Under the Fiscal Year 2022 Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant Program” and associated documents required for the agreement with the United States Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration for the programming, design, and construction of Pedestrian Accessibility and Safety Improvements at up to 26 intersections City Wide on West Capitol Drive, West Atkinson Avenue, South Cesar Chavez Drive, West Greenfield Avenue and West Forest Home Avenue. The Agreement provides for 80 percent Federal aid and 20 percent local cost sharing for preliminary engineering. The total estimated cost of this project is $5,500,000 with a City share of $1,100,000 and a grantor share of $4,400,000. This resolution also directs the City Comptroller to transfer funds for preliminary engineering at an estimated cost of $675,000 with an estimated City share of $135,000 and a grantor share of $540,000.
