Minutes note: Appearing: Kevin Muhs, DPW City Engineer City Engineer Muhs provided a summary of the DPW report, as contained in the file, respective to existing pavement quality, street capital investment levels, federal and state grants dedicated to arterial rodas, amount to eliminate backlog at $821 million with $752 million estimated for local and collector streets ineligible for federal grant funding, high impact paving, and potential revenue sources (enhance State Local Road Improvement Program, additional levy-backed borrowing, increase vehicle registration fee, implement a transportation utility, other options), and non-fiscal limitations (staff capacity, impact on public/private utilities, contractor capacity), and next steps. There was discussion on vehicle registration fee (compared to other cities, fee increase, value and weight fee structure), pavement impact (heavier vehicles, weather), parking impact on road use, and short and long term plans.

Minutes note: Ald. Burgelis commented on the need for a realistic funding strategy from DPW and have not seen submission of a report as required by budget amendment 40B to the 2025 City budget. Appearing: Amber Danyus, Mayor's Office Ms. Danyus said that a report will be submitted by the deadline and that DPW requests to hold the file due to their inability to appear at the meeting today.
