Title

Substitute resolution relating to the Department of Public Works-Operations Division conducting annual fire evacuation drills in certain Department of Public Works managed facilities.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works-Operations Division to conduct annual fire drills in Department of Public Works managed facilities.

Body

Whereas, The Department of Public Works-Operations Division has responsibility to provide for emergency preparedness in Department of Public Works managed buildings; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works has determined that it is prudent that we practice these emergency procedures on an annual basis; and

Whereas, In the current environment there is a need to ensure we can safely evacuate employees and guests from our facilities; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works-Operations Division will conduct these drills in a manner that limits the disruption of service to citizens as outlined in the attached procedures; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Public Works-Operations Division is hereby authorized to conduct annual fire drills in certain Department of Public Works managed buildings; and

Further Resolved, That these drills will be conducted annually in accordance with the Department of Public Works established policy procedures; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works-Operations Division and the Fire Department shall consult annually concerning the need for any modifications of the emergency procedures.
