Analysis
This ordinance establishes regulations for public entertainment premises. The revised definition preserves the core elements of public access and recreational or entertainment use, while broadening its scope to include spaces rented or reserved for public or private events. This change modernizes the definition to reflect contemporary usage patterns, such as temporary event spaces cultural gatherings and community functions.

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 108-3-7 of the code is repealed and recreated to read:
108-3. Definitions.
7. PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT PREMISES means a premises or location, whether publicly or privately owned, that is open to access by the public as a matter of right or is made available for use by a member of the public, and that is used for an entertainment, assembly, or recreational purpose. This includes a space rented or reserved for a private or public event such as a performance, cultural gathering, celebration, or community function.
